Put Yourself in Her Shoes, bring an end to abuse (PYIHS)

Group 103

On September 12, 2019, 88 percent of identified local domestic violence programs in the United States and territories participated in the 2019 National Census of Domestic Violence Services. The following figures represent the information reported by the 1,669 participating programs about services provided during the 24-hour period.

Victims served in One Day:
0
Unmet requests for services:
0
Hotline calls answered:
0
Unmet for Housing and Emergency Shelter:
0

This includes emergency shelters, transitional shelters, and ultimately, permanent housing. Shelters provide immediate safety to battered women along with their children. The longer a woman stays in the shelter, the less space the shelter has to house more women in times of crisis; however, the longer a woman is allowed to stay, the more time she has to gather the resources—individual or group counseling, job readiness classes, legal services, etc.—that will equip her for her and her children’s future.

Platinum Charities partners with programs designed to empower women and help families succeed in life. Our partners consist of corporate sponsors, individual donors, and organizations that offer the following services or aide: financial counseling, job placement, educational opportunities such as scholarships and job training, home renovations, home furnishing donations, etc. Ultimately, we want to see women become fully independent and self-sufficient. With the two programs we have developed, we believe we can help women in their continued effort to break the cycle of abuse, by providing a safe environment and a beautifully furnished home in which to raise their children.

Low or Free Lease Program:

This option allows for a parent to have a “relief of obligation” on making monthly lease payments for 6 to 24 months. It gives the parent time enough to catch up on past debt, pay off debt, and to save. At the end of the initial time period, the parent is then re-evaluated to see if she can take on the responsibility of either; owning her own home through our down payment assistance program, being offered a new lease term (*), given an extension to her existing terms, or she can leave the program if she wants.

Once the parent’s time period for relief is up and she begins to pay rent, the rent collected goes to further the charity’s goal into helping other families become self-sufficient. The charity uses these funds to maintain homes, subsidize other family’s rent, purchase additional properties, purchase furnishings, etc. (*) Rent is based upon comparable rentals in the area.

Renovation and Preserving Help and Volunteers

Some of the homes we acquire need exterior and interior painting, landscaping, yard clean up, plumbing, roof replacement, carpentry work, etc. If you or your company, church, sorority, fraternity, organization, sports team, school, or family would like to volunteer “a day of service”, we would love for you to reach out to us. Volunteering is not only a great way to come together as a supportive community, but to bring hope and a future to women and children by providing a healthy, strong foundation from which to grow!

Our goal is to provide homes in each of the 32 NFL cities for formally abused women and their children. To volunteer or provide assistance with this program please email us at info@platinumcharities.org
